Toolroll
Terms of Use
Last updated 20 September 2026
These terms cover your use of Toolroll, an app for iPhone and iPad. They are written to be read, not to be survived. If something here is unclear, ask at [email protected] and it will be clarified.
The short version. Toolroll is free to use. There is one optional purchase, made once, that never expires and never renews. Your local vault is yours, and you can export it at any time.
Using Toolroll
You may use Toolroll on the devices associated with your Apple Account, under the terms of the App Store. There is no account to create and no sign-in.
You are responsible for what you save. Do not use Toolroll to store content you do not have the right to keep, or to do anything unlawful.
The purchase
Toolroll offers a single optional in-app purchase that unlocks the Lifetime Pro reach described below.
- It is a one-time purchase. Not a subscription. It does not renew or create recurring charges.
- It does not expire. It remains active unless the purchase is refunded or you use an Apple Account that does not own it.
- It restores. If you reinstall Toolroll or set up a new device with the same Apple Account, use Restore Purchases to get it back at no cost.
Payment is handled by Apple, not by us. We never see your payment details.
What the free version does
The containing app works without paying: saving is never limited, and your full vault remains readable, searchable, editable, deletable and exportable. Reach-limited surfaces on Free use a Quick Set of up to 32 snippets. Lifetime Pro adds text search beyond the Quick Set in the keyboard and removes the Quick Set limit from retrieval through Shortcuts, Spotlight and chosen-tag widgets. It does not change whether you can save or use your full vault in the app.
Your content stays yours
What you save in Toolroll belongs to you. We claim no rights over it, and we never receive it. See the privacy policy for local storage, device backup and user-directed sharing details.
Choosing not to pay never deletes, locks, or withholds anything you saved. Your snippets remain readable and searchable in the app and exportable as plain Markdown, with attachment files included where applicable.
Refunds
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under their policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue them ourselves. If something is not working, write to [email protected] first — a fix is usually quicker than a refund.
Changes to Toolroll
Toolroll will change over time: features will be added, and occasionally something will be reworked or removed. If a change would meaningfully reduce what a paid unlock gives you, that will be stated clearly in the release notes rather than done quietly.
Warranty and liability
Toolroll is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. It is a tool for storing your own text and files; it is not a backup service, and it should not be the only place something important exists.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost data or lost time. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Ending these terms
You may stop using Toolroll at any time by deleting it. Deleting the app removes your local vault from the device, including snippets saved through its keyboard or share extension. Existing iCloud device backups and purchase records are managed separately.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of your own local law.
